Organisational development (OD) is the process of improving the effectiveness of an organisation by implementing changes to its structure, processes, and culture. OD focuses on maximizing the value gained from the organisation's resources, aligning with the organisation's strategy, goals, and purpose, and applying behavioral science knowledge and practices.
OD is a continuous process that aims to institutionalize continuous improvement within the organisation. It is related to change management in that many of the changes implemented as part of OD may be implemented using change management practices.
This often includes the process of upskilling parts of the organisation to learn a particular skill, to perform business processes in a more effective manner.
